A Home Health Care Medical Transcriptionist transcribes the reports of the Home Health Care Clinicians from voice recordings, converting them into written reports.
What does a Home Health Medical Transcriptionist do?
The Home Health Medical Transcriptionist listens to providers' dictated notes and translates them into a clear, organized record of the visit. They ensure that all aspects of a person's history, diagnoses, and treatment are recorded. Then they use the facility's documentation system to file the medical records to be accessed at the next visit or sent to another facility if necessary.
What are some of the qualifications for a Home Health Medical Transcriptionist?

• Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist 3 hours (RHDS)
• Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist 3 hours (CHDS- must have RHDS)
• Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI)
• Minimum requirement of 70 words per minute with attention to detail and accuracy
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, documentation visit types, EMR, and Outlook.
