Job description

Work with the existing regional and global Transactional FX (TFX) team and as part of the wider Payments and FX Solutions (PFS) group to effectively execute a growth strategy across the Americas region. The role holder will be responsible for driving volume, profitability and strategic awareness through client acquisition, marketing, and relationship management (internal & external).

 

  • Outline the PFS strategy internally to key stakeholders within Global Banking, Commercial Banking and Global Payment Solutions (GPS)

  • Interface with and be the TFX subject matter expert to key product stakeholders internally to drive product awareness and build a strong client pipeline

  • Actively work with other front line teams to identify new sales opportunities and successfully negotiate and win new business

  • Assist with on-boarding efforts for mandated TFX opportunities across the region

Impact on the Business

  • Become a core part of the PFS group and collaborate with colleagues globally to ensure stakeholders are aware of ongoing initiatives and developments

  • Grow TFX volumes across the region

  • Help to define and provide input the regional sales strategy for TFX in the Americas

  • Drive internal stakeholder product awareness of TFX solutions to generate internally lead client acquisition

  • Work with existing GPS and GFX sales teams, originate new TFX client relationships and increase market share

  • Help to achieve increased wallet share and client satisfaction for existing TFX client relationships

  • Coordinate with global counterparts to ensure strategy is synergised and effectively executed across the region

  • Ensure delivery of a cohesive, market leading service to clients providing feedback to TFX product development

  • Promote an entrepreneurial, client lead approach within stakeholder groups

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Increase awareness internally on the PFS strategy and how this can add value client discussions

  • Increase awareness of TFX and its value to the bank through the PFS channels

  • Maximises value of e-Sales and e-Client Services resources

  • Create effective working relationships and communication flow with Corporate and Global Banking, GPS and GFX sales and product groups

  • Works in concert with global counterparts to promote the TFX business and our brand

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other stakeholders

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Help to drive a sound, regional ‘go to market’ strategy for the client facing TFX proposition

  • Establishes procedures and takes ownership to eliminate or mitigate operational risk

  • Promote TFX strategy awareness – specifically around the importance of centralisation

  • Manages client queries and concerns in a timely, effective manner

For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $175,000 and $200,000.

 

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

  • Comfortable in a start-up environment, pragmatic, proactive, entrepreneurial

  • FX experience within the Americas region, ideally across multiple industry segments

  • Experience within a multi-stakeholder, multi-buying group sales environment

  • Experience of successfully building and managing an effective client pipeline leading to client acquisition

  • Knowledge of the TFX market, applicable solutions and related industry contacts

  • Knowledge of the payments landscape ideally within the Americas region

  • Knowledge of the contractual legal processes / comfort with the interface between legal and commercial functions

  • Experience working closely with sales and support teams

  • Working knowledge of technology solutions, particularly the link between system and business value delivery

  • Experience within regional arm of global business

  • Some understanding of local and global regulatory environment
