Job Description
The Specialty Generics business of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Transactional Corporate Counsel, which will be a critical role in the Legal Department supporting several functions including Commercial, Business Development, Procurement, Regulatory, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, as well as general corporate functions. The Counsel will also support other projects and departments, as determined by the General Counsel of Specialty Generics.
Essential Functions

• Counsel senior leaders and other internal clients on a variety of legal issues.
• Review, prepare, and negotiate commercial, business development, and procurement contracts.
• Be the advocate, advisor and trusted business partner to our internal teams to address and provide practical legal solutions to commercial issues.
• Assist with environmental, regulatory, quality, and compliance matters.
• Assist with general corporate governance matters.
• Oversee the efficient and effective use of outside counsel and legal vendors, while maintaining disciplined budgets.
• Support other projects as determined by the General Counsel of Specialty Generics.

Minimum Requirements:
Education:

• Juris Doctorate degree and admission to and active status with a state bar

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate law department or law firm.
• Experience with contract drafting and negotiation required.
• Experience in or with the pharmaceutical industry is helpful.

Organizational Relationship/Scope:
This position interacts with all levels of the organization and often advises senior leaders on implementing and achieving key enterprise strategies and goals.
Working Conditions:
Typical office working environment. The position will be based in the Company's Webster Groves, Missouri office. This position could have occasional travel required.
