Position Overview:
The Training Specialist will create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for employees in our Aviation Security Operation at JFK International Airport.
This is a field training position that requires flexibility to offer training sessions at various times of the day in both a classroom and airport operation setting. Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assesses training and development needs in partnership with operations management team
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of new hire orientation, as well as initial and recurrent skills training for employees
- Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills
- Maintain familiarization with training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements
- Performs other related duties as required
- Same day or overnight travel on an as needed basis
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Willing and able to participate in pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing with negative results (required by federal regulations)
- NYS DCJS General topics instructor- willing to obtain certification
- AAAE Airport Certified Employee- willing to obtain certification
