The mission of the Georgia Student Finance Commission is to promote and increase access to education beyond high school for Georgians. To achieve this mission the commission administers state and lottery-funded student financial aid programs including the HOPE Scholarship, HOPE Grant, and Student Access Loan Program and provides college planning and other educational services to more than 2 million Georgians through GAfutures.org. The commission seeks to improve its own operations and inform policymakers and other stakeholders through analysis, interpretation and publication of information using the extensive data collected in support of its programs.

DESCRIPTION
The Program Administrative Office seeks a motivated individual with strong passion for learning and development, for the position of Training Specialist. This position provides support and technical assistance to the Sr. Program Manager in developing and delivering training programs (interactive online, presentations and documentation) for external customers. Provides customers with information regarding program procedures and eligibility requirements. Responding promptly and courteously to customer inquiries, resolving problems within given authority, and conducting a variety of routine daily tasks as needed. Assists with testing of system enhancements and new system features.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong experience with graphic art and creative projects
- Assist with development of online training sessions/programs
- Assist with the development of training presentations provided throughout the year
- Assist with examination of training materials and recommend updates to improve efficiency
- Conduct training needs assessments for the identification of user training needs and requirements
- Organize training registration and tracking of attendance
- Provide guidance to utilize online training
- Communicate information and instructions in user friendly manner for both experienced and inexperienced users
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effectively use Microsoft products – TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- Effectively work independently as well as collaborate on a team project
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following standards express the minimum background of education and experience as evidence of an applicant’s ability to qualify for this class title. Any combination of education and experience, if evaluated as equivalent, may qualify an applicant for a position within this class.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services in functional area.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 including TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, computer technology or related business field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
- Experience with creating online presentations for educating or training individuals or groups preferred.
- Experience with the state aid programs preferred.
- Technical experience or knowledge with a student database and website.
