Special Requirements
Successful completion of live scan and a pre-employment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.
Vaccination:
- In accordance with current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Orders and/or Department of Social Serivces (DSS) PINs, workers in various health care settings, including those who work at Veterans Homes, must be vaccinated against COVID-19, including the booster vaccine, or submit a delination form.
- Staff who are not fully vaccinated or have submitted a declination form are subject to semi-weekly (twice per week) testing.
- Additional testing may be required for vaccinated and unvaccinated staff based upon current CDPH orders, DSS Pins and/or CalOSHA guidelines and are subject to change.
- If selected for hire, you may provide proof of vaccination to the hiring supervisor or designee during the pre-employment process. Vaccination information will not affect hiring selections, however, start dates will not be negotiated until proof of vaccination or exemption requirements are submitted timely and approved.
- While working on-site at any CalVet facility, employees must follow current face covering guidance as issued by the California Department of Public Health. Employees working in a county where the local health jurisdiction has issued a stricter public health ordinance must comply with the local order.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
