Overview:
Why Dealer Services Training?

The Dealer Services Training team’s mission is to be highly valued as an innovative and strategic training team that contributes to the overall success of GM Financial/AmeriCredit and our dealer network. We support GM Financial/AmeriCredit by educating employees in dealer and loan services, building relationships with the dealers and supporting everyone with essential training for maximum impact.
The team is comprised of 4 distinct teams that support this overall mission:
  • The Credit and Sales training team provides our field organization relevant skill and process-based training that aids them in every dealer interaction. This team partners with Dealer Services business units to keep a pulse on the industry and provide dynamic training options that adapt to the changing auto lending environment.
  • The Dealer Training department is here to support the GM Financial field organization by building relationships with the dealers and supporting them with essential training. We do this by providing a BEST-IN-CLASS training experience which provides our dealers tips, tools, and techniques to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction while leveraging proven industry best practices.
  • The Loan Services training team is responsible for training all Funding Operations and Loan Services employees, new and existing. We also partner with the Canada Funding team when necessary to assist in training virtually new hires or when there is a major new Funding system rollout.
  • The Instructional Design Team supports the Internal and External training teams by partnering with them and business partners to create and manage advanced interactive and engaging instructor led and online learning solutions for Dealer and Loan Services.
Responsibilities:
About The Role

As a Training Consultant - Sales, you are responsible for partnering with designated business leaders to identify skills, knowledge and abilities necessary for sales team members to perform successfully. You will work closely with VPs, RSMs and other Dealer Services teams to seek out training opportunities in each region, assess regional needs, and conduct appropriate training or workshops as needed through the most appropriate channel (one-on-one, webcast, onsite). You are responsible for selecting appropriate development strategies and delivering solutions that support the strategy of the organization. Within this role, you would develop and deliver Sales training content and communication, product education, sales techniques, etc. You would then track results after training visits to determine impact and provide feedback to dealer services leadership as well as the Dealer Services Training team to aid in the design, customization, and development of new courses and job aids.
Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of communications principles and practices
  • Must have a good understanding of Dealer Service’s operations
  • Must understand and embrace the principles of GM Financial
  • Must have good understanding of instructional design principles
  • Working knowledge of underwriting processes, policies, and guidelines
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Advanced understanding of auto finance industry sales operations
  • Understanding of auto finance industry loan operations
Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in work experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of presentation/training/platform experience; experience in a credit role preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in sales or a sales support function preferred
