Overview
Position Title:Training and Compliance Coordinator
Classification: Full Time - Hourly
Reports To: Training Manager
ROP: $20/hr
Position Summary:
The Training and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for conducting training programs and audits that both instruct employees on servicing the needs of the individual airline and evaluates the employees' performance in accordance with the airline and JetStream's policies and procedures. The Coordinator will be responsible for supporting aircraft appearance using specific airline and JetStream Ground Services policies, procedures and technology. Key areas of responsibilities include communicating with management to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals. The Coordinator will encourage, build trust, respect and cooperation among team members, thus motivating staff, individually and as a group. The Coordinator will be accountable for the inspection of airline aircraft with emphasis on employees following proper procedures and guidelines, use of correct materials and chemicals all while following all safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations and technologies
  • Coach and mentor employees to work together for continuous development of a safe and successful environment
  • Build rapport with all employees and encourage them to develop trust in one another and subsequently rely on each other in the operations
  • Ensure trainees/employees are in compliance with uniform, appearance and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new hire orientation, initial, recurrent, operations and on-the-job training; test trainees to measure progress and evaluate effectiveness of training
  • Maintain a level of professionalism that will encourage all personnel to remain conscientious and motivated when completing training courses and/or job assignments
  • Utilize technology to administer audits (Safety, Security, Aircraft Cleanliness or Ground Ops) and discuss findings with team members and management
  • Provide guidance and follow up support to all to help achieve performance goals
  • Train employees on various types of equipment based on the company's safety standard procedures
  • Partner with management to assess employee training needs
  • Monitor training compliance and maintain training records
  • Assist management in ensuring overall station training compliance remains at accepted performance levels
  • Communicate effectively via email utilizing professional email etiquette at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Competencies:
  • Strong working knowledge of airline operations
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to develop effective relationships at all levels
  • Strong planning, execution, discretion and coaching skills
  • Confidence with speaking in group settings
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English (Bilingual Preferred)

Required Education & Experience:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent 2 years college or technical school
  • 1-2 years of airline supervisory experience or experience supervising individuals in a related field

Additional Requirements:
  • Possess a valid US driver's license
  • Must pass drug screen and a 10-year FAA background check (employment/criminal)
  • Reliable method of transportation to arrive at the work location on-time
  • Willing to work various shifts as assigned
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and seek assistance from fellow team members as necessary
  • Must be able to perform in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach to high stress situations
  • Must be able to interact directly with customers, airline personnel and fellow team members to resolve problems and issues that may arise during the shift
  • Internal candidates must have a recommendation from immediate supervisor

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative to those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Able to walk, sit and stand for extended period of time
  • Able to reach and clean overhead items
  • Safely ascend and descent stairs with and without carrying any weight
  • Able to safely lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Bending, stooping, reaching overhead, extended repetitively
  • Walk up/down jet bridge stairs at various angles
  • Able to push and pull occasionally

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outdoors in an airport ramp environment. The employee may become exposed to the elements including but not limited to heat, rain, snow and loud noises. Hours will vary based on operational needs. Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
