SUMMARY: Provides direct supervision for the Trail Crew in support of Snowbasin’s Vegetation Management and TrailMaintenance Program.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a mountainous environment where terrain may be steep, uneven, rocky, and covered with thick and tangled vegetation. Temperatures range from very hot and dry to cool and extremely wet.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may be assigned):
- Provide for the safety and supervision of all Trail Crew activities.
- Hiring, scheduling, and training of Trail Crew team members
- Ensure the highest standard of safety is maintained.
- Assist Slopes and Trails Manager with goal setting and planning of projects.
- Maintain log book of daily activities, and safety trainings.
- Demonstrate hazard awareness and ability to improve work practices.
- Ensure routine maintenance of equipment is performed.
- Provide emergency care and transport for guests and employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Meets all qualifications of Trail Technician Level 2 (or comparable experience)
- Proficient use of Chainsaw, including tree felling.
- Effective inter-departmental communication skills
- Ability to provide constructive feedback, and corrective action when needed.
- Ability to perform administrative functions using Microsoft office applications
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
- Ensures compliance to all Snowbasin policies and procedures regarding safety.
- Ensures use of Personal Protective Equipment including; but not limited to: boots, gloves,
- protective eyewear, hearing protection, hardhats, etc..
- Immediately report any injuries or near misses to Slopes and Trails Manager.
