Position Information
Traffic Technician III (SR-13)
$3,589/month
Performs technical work in the review of simple plans and designs for subdivisions and public street improvements for compliance with street design standards and requirements and/or in the conduct of simple transportation and traffic studies and surveys; assists higher level technicians in the conduct of moderately complex and complex reviews, studies and surveys; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Transportation Services, Transportation Performance and Development Division located in Honolulu.
Under immediate supervision by the senior Traffic Technician, the Traffic Technician III performs technical work in the conduct of simple transportation and traffic studies/surveys and in the review of simple plans and designs for subdivisions and public street improvements for compliance with street design standards and requirements; assists higher level technicians in the conduct of moderately complex and complex reviews, studies and surveys; and performs other related duties as required.
Special Working Conditions: Field work requires working in and around roadways in close proximity to moving vehicles. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Disaster Support Worker per Mayor's Directive No. 13-1. May require night and weekend work during natural disasters and other emergencies.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three years of survey and/or data collection, tabulation and analysis work experience. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of basic research and survey methods and statistical procedures.
Substitution:
A Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited four year university or college may be substituted for allof the required experience.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Desirable Experience:
