Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Traffic Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
  • Lead development of traffic studies including traffic impact analyses, traffic signal timing plans, microscopic simulation modeling, and macroscopic simulation modeling.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers to prepare PS&E plans including signing and striping, traffic signals, illumination, sidewalk, and traffic control plans for various state and local agencies.
  • Role will be of a Seller/Doer and the ideal candidate is expected to grow the traffic group. This will involve growing the local program, helping develop and meet financial goals, and supporting the area marketing plan.
  • Work closely with the Area Manager, Transportation Business Group Manager, Transportation Program Manager, Section Managers, and multiple Project Managers.
  • Participate as part of a group of professionals engaged in transportation planning, traffic analysis, project development, and community planning activities.
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • PE license
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience required which must include extensive experience leading Traffic Projects for private land developers, DOTs, MPOs, and local governments.
  • Strong knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD, Synchro, and Highway Capacity Software is required.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, TxDOT and/or other transportation agencies' standards and specifications is required.
  • Experience must include traffic operations and safety; corridor studies, traffic impact analysis, highway capacity analysis; traffic operational analysis; designing and implementing traffic signal system timings.
  • Experience managing/mentoring staff and providing technical leadership.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once.
  • Preference given to local candidates
  • Experience with ArcGIS, TransCAD, VISSIM, or VISUM is a plus
  • Working skills with MicroStation and preparing PS&E plans is preferred
  • Individuals with desire to assist in business development is a plus
