This position is responsible for a travel territory, recruiting qualified applicants for admission, and functions as both an outside recruiter and on-campus recruitment liaison. Primary responsibilities include attending college fairs, planning high school travel, developing relationships with high school guidance counselors, parents and prospective students in order to meet or exceed stated annual enrollment and outreach goals associated with the territory. The Admissions Counselor informs prospective high school students about Illinois Wesleyan programs, culture, mission, and life on campus; ensures that recruitment goals are met regarding applications, acceptances, and enrolled students; plans and executes special projects in conjunction with the goals and objectives of the Enrollment & Marketing department; reviews admissions applications, and evaluates credentials; encourages a healthy and productive working relationship between the Enrollment & Marketing department and other IWU offices.
