Job description

Overview
The Traffic Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Traffic Department.
Responsibilities
  • Daily management of the Traffic Department.
  • Working with the Bulk Oil and Inventory Control Departments to investigate and resolve any unusual inventory variations, to offset any potential customer claims.
  • Working with the Bulk Oil, Inventory, Marketing, Engineering, and terminal management for the purpose of passing along information that filters through the Traffic Department.
  • Assist in the daily Traffic operations as needed.
  • Perform all duties of a Traffic Coordinator (ATM)
  • Must be able to discuss operational matters and concerns with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained.
  • Issue railcar permits as requested by our customers.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Bulk Oil Operations Manager and/or the Commercial VP - Northeast Petroleum.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in the Petrochemical industry.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT's terminal locations.

Skills and Abilities
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
  • Ability to make decisions in a variable environment.
  • Ability to communicate with all other terminal departments.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Basic mathematics, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)

Hours of Work
  • Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday.
  • This position requires the ability to perform overtime and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.
