About the Position: Serves as the Traffic Management Specialist with in the Ocean Cargo Clearance Authority (OCCA) Booking Office for a Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Brigade. The OCCA Booking Office is responsible for providing technical direction and cargo booking support to SDDC and is responsible for transportation and distribution activities within their area of responsibility (AOR).Qualifications: Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, monitoring, coordinating and executing peacetime and wartime movements of DoD cargo throughout an assigned AOR by trans-modal surface transportation. Developing, analyzing, negotiating, and implementing policies, directives, methods, practices, tests, inspections, and evaluations of Command wide Traffic Management to ensure overall effectiveness and efficient use of transportation systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
