MJ is seeking a motivated and experienced leader in Traffic Engineering to lead the growth of our Traffic Engineering Practice and be our Traffic Engineering Practice Leader. A successful candidate will have a growth mindset and will be an integral member of the Transportation Division providing strategic direction and oversight of the Traffic Engineering staff. You will manage a team of dedicated professionals, promoting high performance and a collaborative work environment. This is a Seller/Doer roll responsible for developing and executing Traffic Engineering growth strategies with existing and new clients and existing and new services.
As Traffic Engineering Practice Leader, you will:
- Oversee the development of traffic staff including workloads, training, and career planning;
- Create a challenging professional environment of innovation, opportunity, development, and continuous improvement for the staff focused on staff growth and succession planning;
- Lead the execution of current and future Traffic Engineering projects;
- Develop or review all aspects of Traffic Engineering studies including data collection, microsimulation model development and calibration (SimTraffic and VISSIM) or other deterministic models such as Synchro, HCS, Vistro, or Sidra, traffic forecasting, and analysis of alternatives;
- Make public presentations;
- Write technical reports;
- Perform quality control reviews;
- Manage projects and meet agreed upon budgets and schedules;
- Identify project opportunities, identify new markets and services, and develop new and expand existing client relations;
- Assist with proposal preparation to secure new work;
- Serve as Traffic Discipline Lead on pursuits and opportunities; and
- Engage and serve in leadership positions within industry organizations, with specific subcommittee involvement at relevant organizations including ACEC, ITE, ASCE, and others. Seek opportunities to make presentations or write articles. Encourage others in the team to do the same.
