Traffic Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The primary functions of this position are to plan and schedule customer and company truck shipments, arrange shipments to/from warehouse, plan shipments to outside processors, work closely with sales department on customer’s required shipments, work directly with customers to arrange shipments.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Build daily shipping schedules using Company computer system (SAP).

- Communicate with freight companies on scheduling loading appointments.

- Schedule material transfers between plants and warehouses for load consolidation.

- Work directly with operation's shipping personnel to resolve shipment issues.

- Develop new carriers and work through the on-boarding process.

- Review carrier shipping invoices for accuracy and applied freight rates.

- Work overtime as required to ensure shipping schedules are complete and accurate.

- File shipping records.

EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- 3-5 years in the logistics industry required for scheduling and dispatching driver’s load assignments, using broker boards, on-boarding of new carriers, and lane rate and fuel surcharge development.

- Must work well with others in team environment to complete daily departmental expectations.

- Communicate professionally in all verbal and electronic communications with customer.

- Must be able to effectively communicate with sales and operations' personnel.

- Ability to effectively deal with multiple concurrent issues.

- Proficiency in computer technologies including the ability to work with Company software.

- Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Word desired.

- Must be highly detailed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be available for potential travel, possess the physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and move throughout the plant as needed, sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, occasionally lift up-to 30 pounds, and possess the ability to hear, speak and write clearly, in English, in person, by email, and over the phone.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
