The Remote Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sale bookings. The position acts as the liaison between Meeting Planners and the hotel staff while creating confidence in the hotel with the meeting planner to ensure a successful event. Responsibilities include: administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage and A/V needs, managing room blocks and pick up, billing instructions and final review.
In addition to the servicing and planning aspect of the position, this role is tasked with revenue generation through upselling food and beverage in banquets, meeting room rental, and miscellaneous other Revenue. The Event Planning Manager must be able to effectively sell the services (on property and through 1718 Events offsite) of the hotel, gain commitment from the customer, and work well with all departments to ensure that services are delivered as communicated to the client.
This individual would work in unison with an on-site Event Planning Manager for each group program. The remote Event Planning Manager would be responsible for turning over to the on-property team a fully detailed program and stay in communication throughout the event to make changes as needed that will be funneled through the client and the on-property Event Planning Manager.
There will be times where the Remote Event Planning Manager will be required to be on property, including but not limited to attending critical pre-planning meetings for certain groups, select pre-con meetings as well as first main day of events, quarterly team business retreats, and corporate sponsored training.

Qualifications
A minimum of 2-4 years of volume hotel EVENT PLANNING
Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of hotel and/or food & beverage experience preferred
Must be experienced in general computer knowledge and programs
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
Refined verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally & in writing, with public and other Team Members
Present a professional appearance and confidence
Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast paced environment
Strong time management & multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure
Understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts
Have comprehensive knowledge of all operational departments within the hotel; guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio visual, banquets, accounting, restaurants and engineering
Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to exceed standards and expectations
Knowledge of meeting room set-ups and capabilities, sleeping room configurations and types
Respond to requests by Meeting Planners immediately
Create, review and revise rooming lists and VIP lists
Manage meeting space and adjust in order to ensure maximum potential revenue
Maintain price integrity both in rooms and food and beverage, using revenue management
Pre-check room setups, prior to arrival of the group
Relay accurate forecast information for rolling forecasts
Interact with outside planners, vendors for event set-up
Manage existing accounts and follow up with client re-solicitation to capture future business
Responsible for increasing overall revenue per attendee by upselling techniques, rooms management strategies, value added offerings and other creative methods
Experience creating and writing menus to fit event’s needs.
Preferred candidate has completed PSS or equivalent training
