Traffic Control Flagger

Four Hats Inc is looking to hire dedicated and observant flaggers to monitor the flow of traffic around utility construction sites. As a flagger, you are responsible for directing vehicles around the construction sites. You will also be responsible for placing barricades, sign boards, and traffic cones.

To be successful as a flagger, you should have effective communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Ultimately, a top-notch flagger should demonstrate a sound knowledge of state traffic regulations as well as exceptional observation skills.

Responsibilities

· Maintaining the flow of traffic around the construction sites.

· Setting up traffic cones, and signs around the site.

· Communicating with fellow crew members effectively and efficiently, by handheld devices and using hand signals.

· Removing the barricades, traffic cones, and sign boards after completion of work.

· Using hand signals and signs to direct the traffic.

· Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.

· Adhering to all the rules and regulations of the company.

· Complete all required daily and weekly paperwork in a timely manner.

· Ensure all proper PPE (personal protective equipment) is worn and maintained in compliance with Company policy.

· Ensure the Safety and Security of all clients, colleagues and traveling public in or near the work zone and according to ATSSA standards.

· Report any concerns/issues directly to a Field Supervisor.

· Other duties as assigned.

Flagger Requirements

· Must have a valid Driver’s License

· Must have a clean driving record.

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and maintain a drug-free status.

· The ability to stand, lift, bend, and twist for extended periods.

· The ability to lift 65+ pounds repetitively.

· The ability to work as part of a team.

· The ability to work in uncomfortable and harsh weather conditions.

· Exceptional observation skills.

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

· Proficiency in non-verbal communication such as hand signals, signs, and others.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Work experience as a Flagger or a similar position in the Construction industry. (Preferred not required)

· Strong knowledge and understanding of traffic rules.

Pay:

· $17.00 - $20.00 per hour – Based on experience/knowledge

· Biweekly pay (every two weeks)

Work location:

· Scheduled Work-sites

Schedule:

· Up to 14 hour shifts

· Day shifts and Night shifts

· Monday – Sunday

· On Call

Uniform:

· We provide the PPE (Reflective Vest and Pants, Hard Hat and Safety Glasses)

· You are required to provide/purchase your own boots (leather or suede)

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
