Job duties include but not limited to:
- The Traffic Analyst leads daily operations associated with domestic shipments
- This position interacts with customer service and contracted carrier partners to ensure on-time performance, while maintaining appropriate cost structure
- Analyzes TMS to recommend changes in NDP Logistics network
- Assists in maintaining carrier performance standards and recommends addition or elimination of carriers based on performance data
- Ensures daily communication between carriers, mills, and customers to work through and mitigate delivery issues
- Focus on tracking daily carrier delivery ETA’s with emphasis of meeting delivery demands
- Works closely with transportation carriers to increase routing guide compliance and develop metrics to allow for ease of evaluation
- Analyzes routing guide data and provides monthly measurable reports and statistics
- Works with carriers to increase the volume of continuous move activity and develops tracking system for generated savings
- Analyzes trailer pool compliance metrics and partners with carriers to ensure compliance is met and trailer pools align to outbound shipment volume
- Performs detailed analysis by mill location, carrier, and mode selection to outline network inefficiencies and cost opportunities
- Utilizes logic and reasoning to identify strength and weaknesses of alternative solutions to achieve transportation cost savings
- Uses analytical tools to optimize transportation and distribution operations
- Owns the process of handling freight damage claims

Job requirements:
- Enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college working towards a Logistics and Supply Chain Degree or Business Administration
- Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA (both Accounting GPA & Cumulative GPA)
- Completed at least 30 semester hours and prefer junior/senior student at a 4-year university/college prior to start of internship.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
