Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity as a Trading Analystto support trading activities on both the Refined Fuels and Renewable Fuels desk. This position will be responsible for the forward contracting hedging program as well as producing and monitoring multiple reports. This position will be assigned project tasks that involve analysis of markets for both trading and supply needs. This position will review market information from multiple sources and provide written and presented information across the energy division.
This is a hybrid position out of our global corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
Responsibilities
- Manage forward contract hedge position under supervision, monitoring sales activity during the day and hedging with appropriate contracts to keep CHS forward contract position hedge. Rebalance NYMEX hedge position once customers apply loads to contracts as well as collecting daily TAS hedge trades and executing these trades daily. Working forward sales and operations on forward contracting programs to provide risk analysis on current and developing programs.
- Perform analysis on forward markets including refinery LP model for planning, crack hedging, storage programs, and LIFO hedging strategies. Support OTC swap confirmation and compliance reporting process.
- Work with trading and supply teams to collect data and market analysis in specific markets (Denver / NuStar butane & gasoline / Bio blending programs / Conway storage) to help optimize CHS supply and trading positions.
- Develop, maintain, and improve current reports. Work with the middle office and audit teams to support the determination of accurate data and maintain appropriate controls within the liquid fuels group.
- Interact with multiple industry participants (Banks / Brokers / Market Reports / Industry New Outlets / Government Agencies) to collect market information and data to decipher and disseminate appropriate market information and analysis across CHS.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Trading and Trading Support
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field
- Prior trading analysis experience
- Strong mathematical skills (statistics, correlation, regression)
- Experience with Microsoft Office - Excel / PowerPoint
- Experience mining and cleansing large data sets
- Experience designing and validating data visualizations
- Knowledge of Refinery and Supply Operations
- Must work effectively with several stakeholders in order to determine optimum business needs
- Ability to efficiently design and develop usable computer driven models and tools
- Ability to identify and offer solutions to drive financial results
- Knowledge to retrieve correct information for business decisions
