Summary of Primary Purpose
This position is responsible for general knowledge of building trades with an aptitude for carpentry, painting, landscaping, flooring, doors and hardware or other trades. Entry level role performing routine building maintenance tasks.
Assist with the performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry; painting; electrical; heating, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, grounds, etc.); Perform general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
- Utilizes safety protocols and expectations in all aspect of work
- Supports skilled Tradesmen with building inspections and review of other structures to determine functional systems. Detect basic malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet.
- May perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
- May perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
- Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using a brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, and handles, etc.).
- Supports skilled Tradesmen with reconfiguring, installation, positioning, and/or mounting of modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs. Maximize office space using various hand, power, and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
- Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve the wood and metal parts from corrosion while maintaining a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.).
- Ordering parts and maintaining inventory along with required documents.

- Basic Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of work-related experience in facility maintenance.
A basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry is a plus
