Tow Truck Operator

Job Overview:
Dukes is a local Towing Company which has catered to Conway and surrounding areas for over 10 Years. We are seeking qualified tow operators to join our busy and growing Team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work effectively in demanding and high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities:
● Towing Operations: Operate Tow Trucks to safely tow and recover vehicles, equipment, and machinery.

● Emergency Response: Respond promptly to dispatch calls for roadside assistance, accidents, breakdowns, and other emergencies requiring towing services. Assess the situation, evaluate safety risks, and implement appropriate towing and recovery procedures.

● Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues, customers, and bystanders during towing operations. Use appropriate safety equipment and follow established towing techniques to minimize risks and prevent accidents.

● Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, equipment, and towing apparatus before and after towing operations to ensure proper functioning, identify any mechanical issues or damage, and document findings as needed.

● Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers to assess their needs, explain towing options, and address any questions or concerns they may have. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent communication and service delivery.

● Documentation: Complete accurate and detailed documentation of towing operations, including service reports, work orders, invoices, and other required paperwork. Record mileage, hours worked, services provided, and any additional relevant information.

● Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on Tow Trucks, towing equipment, and tools to ensure their safe and reliable operation. Identify and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements:

● Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with vehicles, equipment, and towing apparatus as needed.

● Driving Skills: Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record. Ability to operate large vehicles safely and confidently in various road and weather conditions.

● Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Comfortable working outdoors and in challenging environments.

● Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with customers & colleagues in a courteous and respectful manner.

Qualifications:
● SC Driver's License (Required)

● Clean Driving Record

● Strong work ethic

● Previous experience as tow operator (Required)

● Ability to operate both rollback & hook/chain trucks.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Every weekend
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• Night shift
• Overnight shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus opportunities
• Commission pay

Experience:

• Tow Operator: 1 year (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Conway, SC: Relocate before starting work (Required)
