Direct, oversee, and administer the day-to-day operations of the Tourism Division and acts as Executive Director and CEO of the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the official tourism destination marketing organization for Collier County.
Promote tourism to and within all parts of Collier County, Immokalee, Ave Maria, Golden Gate and the cities of Naples, Marco Island, and Everglades City regionally, statewide, nationally, and internationally.
Develop new and existing markets, in coordination with local tourism industry partners.
Manage contractual research, the organization's marketing strategy, fulfillment, website, sponsorships and promotional efforts through frequent contact with firms and outside agency resources, as appropriate.
Plan, direct, and regularly attend tourism and group meeting promotional activities including advertising, marketing, and trade show events.
Oversee activities, marketing and operations for the Paradise Coast Sports Complex. This position is also responsible for the oversight of sponsorships including, but not limited to, U.S. Open Pickleball, PGA and LPGA annual tournaments.
Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff. This includes processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Additionally, you will assess team member workloads and issue assignments, and prepare action plans and performance measures for tourism functions.
Participate in critical administrative functions including the preparation and progress of Board agenda items, executive summaries, and recommendations for presentation to the County Manager, executive staff, Tourist Development Council (TDC), and Board of County Commissioners (BCC). Work includes preparing draft agreements, ordinances, resolutions, and recommendations for presentation to Purchasing, the County Attorney, executive staff, TDC, and BCC.
Oversee and direct initiatives in Beach Renourishment/Replenishment operations while effectively managing beach access projects supporting our coastal infrastructure and beachfront facilities.To be considered you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or related field; candidates without a degree should possess four (4) additional years of related experience.
Five (5) years of related experience.
Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) and international marketing experience preferred.
Valid Driver's License.The Tourism Team
18 staff members to support daily operations of the Tourism Division and Sports Complex.
The Division Budget
The Director is responsible to prepare, present, and execute personal services and operating budgets. For FY2024, the Division budget is approximately $40,000,000. This budget includes Category "B" Tourist Development Tax funding, allocated to the tourism administration and promotion budget. The Director has responsibility to monitor the effectiveness and status of Category "A" funding, which includes all beach and inlet management projects and all beach park facilities projects; and Category "C" funding which includes both County owned and operated museums and non-County or municipally owned museum projects and budgets.
Salary
Depending on qualifications, the starting salary for this position is anticipated to be in the range of $116,690.00 - $145,000.00 annually but is negotiable.
