The Tour Merchandise Manager is responsible for all aspects of supply, promotion and revenue (of merchandise) while on the road.
The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of the products sold, and a great understanding of the customer base in order to provide impeccable customer service to our venues and fans.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for advancing all shows 2-3 weeks in advance with the venue contact.
- Manages At Venue shipments and upkeep in conjunction with the Merchandise Warehouse and Business Management Firm to ensure all numbers reported are accurately.
- Reconcile all sales for the day in At Venue and send reports nightly to all Admins
- Sends in merchandise sales checks to Business Managers in a timely manner.
- Reports on operations, issues and suggests / finds solutions.
- During merch truck pack out, this role may be asked to be on site according to the schedule to ensure the truck is packed.
- Count in all merchandise received and ensure it matches paperwork / is accurate.
- Report any discrepancies to Merchandise Warehouse and Business Management Firm.
- Schedules and conducts quarterly truck inventory at the direction of Operations and / or Business Management Firm.
- Gives a detailed summary of potential reasons for discrepancies.
- Merchandises and sets up selling area consistently to uphold visual standards.
- Responsible for managing the team selling merchandise at shows and following through with providing them an add on sales strategies to maximize sales. If sales are slow during a show, be proactive, and come up with creative ways to increase sales.
- Manages all venue staff to ensure they are upholding customer service standards set up by the company.
- Keeps merchandise truck clean and organized and reports if he needs additional quantities of merchandise to keep proper inventory levels.
- Maximizes the merch truck layout to ensure maximum efficiency on the road.
- Reports any hazards in the truck to Operations and Tour Manager ASAP.
- Reports any issues or changes with the truck to the Tour Manager and Operations.
- Determines if surplus merchandise can be brought to the next venue when no truck is present.
- When tour travel is light, may be asked to report to the Client Warehouse for work-related / assigned projects.
- Assists Operations with special project requests (big and small).
Requirements:
- 3+ years of previous tour / festival merchandise experience
- Supervisory experience
- Able to carry up to 50 pounds.
- Able to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
- Able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
