-Job Summary
The Tooling Helper assists tooling technicians and tooling team projects/tasks with the installation, maintenance, and repairs, parts replacement, and with loading and unloading of components from the mills. Furthermore, the Tooling helper also transfers tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from work stations and other areas. Including but not limited to cleaning of tooling work areas, mill, tools, external changeover tables and roll washing.
-Immediate Supervisor
This position reports directly to the Tooling Engineer.
-Responsibilities
- Assist the Tooling crew with changeover activities as needed.
- Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.
- Reports defective parts and tools to administrator/supervisor/technician
- Installs or replaces machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools
- Examines and tests machinery, components, equipment and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning
- Assists by supplying tools, parts, equipment for other workers
- Works as a team and gives assistants on continued improved projects.
- Lubricate specific areas of the Mills as preventive maintenance
- Clean of mill plates with the appropriate equipment/tools
- Prepare rolls for CNC process by cleaning and washing
- Maintain in good conditions all equipment provided to perform assigned tasks: manual tools, power tools, hand tools, etc.
- Housekeeping in general tooling work areas. (5’s principle)
- Helps to organize, maintain, receive and install tooling.
- Support 5S’s activities as required.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
-Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Three to six months related experience and/or training.
- Certification in any field related to industrial manufacturing is a plus
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in.
-Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
-Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
