Job description

Job Title: Tool Room Attendant – Gaston SC

Job Summary:

SEFA has an opening for a Tool Room attendant to work at our warehouse facility located in Gaston, South Carolina. This is a full-time position with paid benefits.

This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing tools, equipment, and other items from the Tool Room storage area. Drops off and picks up tools/equipment and materials from vendors and or job site locations when assigned. In addition, responsible for overseeing the of all calibration tools to include monitoring, tracking and ensure repairs and calibration are completed with outside vendors as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintains good housekeeping practices, turning off machines when not in use, disposing of waste properly, sweeping the area, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring tools are repaired and replaced as needed.
  • Manages inventory control and provides adequate levels of equipment and tools are maintained.
  • Performs quarterly inventory on a regular schedule to maintain accurate inventory reports.
  • Carries out shipping and receiving duties and ensures tools or materials are delivered to job sites on schedule.
  • Responsible for quality control of all outgoing tool deliveries.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and secure space with an identified place for everything to provide quick identification of missing or damaged equipment.
  • Ensures work areas are restocked with supplies and materials as necessary.
  • Perform basic computer task to include email, data entry, collection and processing Microsoft Office products.
  • Inspects tools arriving and leaving the Tool Room to ensure they are properly operating, and the calibration tools are accurate.
  • Keeps proper documentation of the following:
  • conditions of calibration tools as they leave and return to the Tool Room
  • verification of the persons receiving and returning tools to the Tool Room
  • Marks tools using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment as necessary.
  • Cleans, maintains and repairs tools.
  • Keeps records on the use and/or damage of tools or equipment.
  • Examines and inspects tools for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Delivers tools and equipment to workers when necessary.
  • Backs-up drivers when necessary.
  • Receives and counts tools and records data using a computer.

Qualifications:

· Must have high school diploma or G.E.D

· Must have a basic knowledge of industrial construction tools and their use.

· Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers

· Ability to work independently

· Basic computer skills

· Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all of the above areas

· Must have a current drivers license and possess a clean driving record.

Preferred experience:

· 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial construction environment.

· Basic knowledge of welding equipment a plus.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

· Follow all SEFA safety policies and procedures.

· Must be able to be self-directed.

· Ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to multitask.

· Able to work overtime as required to meet customer needs.

· May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above.

· Must have full range of motion.

· Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises.

· Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces.
