Tool & Die Machinist

Canton Drop Forge, a leading producer of large, closed die forgings in Canton, Ohio, is seeking a Tool & Die Machinist to join our team.

Tool & Die Machinist Summary of Duties

Sets up and operates machine tools such as CNC, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinders to machine metallic and non-metallic workpieces according to specifications, tooling instructions, standard charts, and applying knowledge of machining methods.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to perform milling, deburring, sawing, and sanding.
• Will change dies and support tooling at CNC Machines.
• Reading blueprints or job orders for product specifications.
• Document results of machined tooling.
• Load and unload cutting tools.
• Prepare dies/support tools as needed.
• Complete paperwork as needed for each job and maintain paperwork in an orderly fashion.
• Transport dies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with CNC and Machine setup.
• Experience with Manual machining.

• Must be able to read and perform math calculations.
• Ability to use basic handheld measuring tools.
• Experience reading and interpreting drawings.
• The ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize their importance is required.
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail.
• Mechanical Experience is a significant plus.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand 100% of the time.
• The job involves standing, walking, twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing steps, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift up to 80-pounds, and push/pull up to 100-pounds occasionally.
