SUMMARY
The Tool Crib Attendant to support a Naval Air Command program located at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station, NJ. The Tool Crib Attendant supports the Naval Air Command within the Prototyping, Test, and Manufacturing Branch of NAVAIR Lakehurst. The Prototype and Manufacturing Department provides critical hardware to the fleet. We overhaul arresting engines and launch valves and are the sole source of supply for the cables used for aircraft arrestment (i.e., purchase cables and cross deck pendants), we manufacture hardware in response to fleet emergencies, and we manufacture a wide range of support equipment and test this equipment appropriately. We are the sole source of supply and last source of supply for critical hardware that is essential to Navy Fleet operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive and inventory tools and tool kits.
Maintain a database for all tools checked in and out of the Tool Crib.
Responsible for etching serial numbers into new tools before inventorying items.
Properly receive gauges without damaging them.
Properly pull and transfer gauges from inventory.
Highly organize and maintain the tool room.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.

Fosters an environment in which they will report any violations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one (1) year relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATION
Must be able to obtain government security clearance.
Must be able to pass a customer background check for access to facilities, equipment and property. This Homeland Security Investigation requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status.
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
