As a pivotal member of our team, the Tool Crib Attendant is entrusted with the crucial responsibility of managing tools for the company's machining operations, ensuring that machinists have seamless access to the necessary equipment. Here's an in-depth look at the role:
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Take charge of preparing and consistently updating the tool and equipment inventory.
- Leverage advanced Tool Crib software for meticulous tracking of tool issuance and returns.
Tool Handling:
- Execute the meticulous receiving, unpacking, and storing of incoming tools.
- Facilitate the smooth issuance of machine tools to various work centers, proactively requisitioning stock as needed.
Quality Control:
- Employ a keen eye for detail in inspecting tools for defects or wear.
- Promptly report any identified damage or wear to supervisors for immediate attention.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Undertake the responsibility of repairing and maintaining tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Demonstrate expertise in using manual tools & cutter grinder for precision operations.
Organization and Identification:
- Implement a robust system for marking tools for easy identification.
- Uphold a systematic and organized arrangement of tools within the Tool Crib.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of cutting tools used in machining, coupled with the ability to interpret blueprints and comprehend set-up sheets.
Operational Experience: Showcase practical experience in operating manual tools & cutter grinder, with additional preference given to candidates with prior Tool Crib experience in a manufacturing environment.
Inventory Control: Exhibit proficiency in managing inventory through advanced control systems.
Organizational Skills: Possess inherent organizational skills and a proactive, self-starting attitude.
Communication Skills: Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal/written communication.
