5-year goals 2018-2023
In 2018 HSYC was awarded a five-year grant to continue offering program services. These are our five-year goals:
Goal #1: Develop, in classrooms and at home, an understanding of the importance of balancing nurture and structure to help build resiliency and self-regulation in our participants.
Goal #2: Improved attendance for lifelong success.
Goal #3: Create and support a trauma-informed culture in our program and our community.
Goal #4: Hire and retain individuals who are committed to the true HSYC mission and philosophy and who understand the need to be trauma-informed and relationship-based in an early childhood program.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position will plan and implement a program for 8 to 10 children ages 24 through 36 months and their families which consists of home visits and classroom experiences that enhance the healthy development of participants. This position will coordinate the integrated delivery of child development, social services, health, nutrition, and parent involvement using Early Head Start curriculums. The classroom experiences for children will be held in accordance with program, state, and federal guidelines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of a home-based or infant-toddler CDA credential or comparable credential, including and Oregon Registry Online Step 7 or higher, or equivalent coursework as a part of an associate's or bachelor's degree; and
- Demonstrated competency to plan and implement home and classroom-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the curriculum and promote children's progress, including children with disabilities and dual language learners, as appropriate, and to build respectful, culturally responsive, and trusting relationships with families.
- AAS or BS in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with toddlers in small groups preferred.
- Experience with home visiting preferred.
- Previous experience with At-Risk families preferred.
