Summit Credit Union is expanding its consumer lending team opening up an exciting opportunity for a detail oriented individual to fill our Title Service Specialist position. In this role you will be responsible for prioritizing and managing our DMV title tracking processes and adhering to our service level standards. Work as part of the consumer servicing team.
Essential Functions
- Operate as an expert in DMV processes, regulations, while providing legendary member service to internal and external members. Work with team to ensure that our internal service level agreements are being met and communicate to Consumer Servicing Manager when service standards are in jeopardy of not being met, provide recommendations to increase serviced standards. As needed assist with consumer Loan Servicing on tasks and service events.
- Title Service Specialist is responsible for collateral secured loans to ensure SCU is listed as lien holder. Necessary to have a thorough understanding of corresponding state and local title regulations. Title Service Specialist will maintain file documentation, update systems, and represent Summit when interacting with DMV agencies, vendor, and
- Handles DMV lien process, verifying SCU is listed as lien holder on collateral secured loans
- Follow up on missing titles/POA forms by following process for member contact via phone and letter
- Understanding of WAMS, e-premier title, Dealer track, and any other DMV related vendors.
- Work with vendors to ensure service levels are met.
- Answer and respond to members courteously on all issues relating to titles.
- File UCC's on behalf of SCU.
- Accept e-title (s) and manage the e-title process through our vendor.
- Balance the DMV fee GL.
- Handles plate and sticker inventory, and the issuance of temporary and metal plates.
- Ensure compliance of state DMV laws.
- Work with vendors to ensure we are receiving proper support, per contractual agreements and service are satisfactory. Report any issues to Consumer Servicing Manager.
- Maintain internal DMV laws.
- Act as a knowledgeable DMV resource for the credit union.
- Assist with other consumer loan operations duties as assigned.
- Improve Member Experience and Meet Service
- Clearly understand the Credit Union's vision, long term loans, and demonstrate the support of these through day-to-day interactions
- Assist with calls from members, other financials, and dealerships as it relates to DMV related issues.
- Work with Servicing Manager to provide feedback and direction to staff as it relates to consumer loans and DMV function, to improve the member experience.
- Provide recommendations to the consumer servicing manager to enhance the member experience.
Job Specifications
- Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for interacting with credit union staff and members.
- Have or be able to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
- Position requires ability to work accurately with figures and ability to perform detailed work.
- Associate degree in finance or equivalent field required, or equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years direct experience in consumer lending with experience in titles preferred.
- Requires the ability to follow-up on problems presented to members and co- workers using a customer service approach including use of investigative problem solving.
- Intermediate knowledge of laws and regulations of consumer lending.
- Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc. ).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
