Title Searcher/Examiner

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual for the added position of Title Searcher/Examiner for Hometown Title, a fast-growing, innovative-thinking company. In this role, the valuable team member will assist the following duties:

• Search real estate records including but not limited to land and tax records, county mapping and judgments
• Summarize basic legal documents
• Communicate title issues
• Assist with analyzing chain of title
• Assist with the verification of legal descriptions
• Acquires maps or drawings from surveyor/assessor’s offices or title companies.
• Researches and investigates to identify any restrictions limiting the use of the property.
• Collaborates with realtors, mortgage lenders, insurers, contractors, and public officials to clarify or confirm findings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
• Ability to use findings to prepare well-written, accurate reports.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with SoftPro a plus

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Sound knowledge of terminology and other technical aspects relating to property titles
• Indiana Title Insurance License, notary a plus.

Salary:

• Range of $44,000-$70,000 based on experience.

Pay: $44,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
