ROLE AND PURPOSE:
- To assist individual teachers and campus systems with the implementation of student behavior intervention strategies and support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree from Accredited University
- Master's degree in education (preferred)
- Texas Teacher's Certification
Experience:
- Minimum five years planning and delivering behavioral interventions for school-based youth
- Knowledge of student behavior intervention strategies, Behavior Intervention Plans, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) is preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
- Teacher Support:
- Conferencing
- Co-planning and co-teaching
- Demonstration student behavior intervention strategies
- Focused classroom visits
- Assisting in the analysis of data to determine student behavior intervention needs
- Professional learning
- Study groups based on campus needs
- Student support in collaboration with the teacher:
- Individual instruction
- Small group instruction
- Apply extensive knowledge of student behavior intervention strategies and supports

- Apply thorough knowledge of effective professional learning including coaching, mentoring, how to work with adult learners,

- Assisting with campus documentation and reports
- Data evaluation and analysis
- Identification of campus-wide student behavior intervention needs
- Coordination between grade levels and/or departments
- Communication of district information/requirements and professional learning opportunities
SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION RELATIONS
- Support of the family/community engagement program
- Consistently plans, presents, and/or assists with academically-based family/community engagement program
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
- Participation in the following to strengthen and grow own professional knowledge
- District coaches' meetings, colleague groups, peer support sessions
- Establish and maintain required coaching records
- Keep abreast of current research and practice
