In April 2021, Suburban sold its dealership operations and non-dealership business operations remained under the sole direction of the Fischer family and Suburban Automotive Services was born. Suburban Automotive Services is the parent company for four distinct business verticals: Suburban Accessories, GLS North America, Competitive Vehicle Services and The Paint Shop.
Suburban Accessories is the country's largest OEM accessories distributor. We sell and deliver GM and Ford accessories to authorized dealers across the Midwest and Florida. We also distribute AC Delco, Motorcraft and Mopar parts to dealers and aftermarket independent garages. We are comprised of 5 individual ADIs (GM) and 5 individual FADs (Ford), all of which contribute to $500M in total annual sales. As a Tire Technician you will be responsible for mounting and balancing new wheel sets for GM and Ford dealerships. You will also be responsible for dismounting returned scrap rims from dealerships.
Tire Technician Responsibilities include:
  • Pull wheels and tires from pull sheet provided by associate pulling orders.
  • Dismount new tires from scrap/return rims using the wheel equipment provided.
  • Mount and balance of newly constructed wheel sets utilizing the wheel equipment.
  • Clean and maintain the machines and the work area.
  • Use RF guns to log completed wheel sets.
  • Look up stock and inventory for wheel components.
  • Use forklifts to retrieve parts to assemble wheels.
  • Stack finished product wheels on a pallet by hand.
  • Use a fork or a hand truck to stage wheels to be shipped.
  • Assist other operational departments.
  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service's DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.

Tire Technician Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to pass the drug test and background check.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be attentive to details.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Tire Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands include:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be okay with walking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Minor potential lead hazard.
  • Ability to work in heat.
