Job Summary:
- The Tile Cutting Sew On Operator is responsible to Sew On rolls according to schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Scan roll number on each roll.
- Record roll numbers, yards, etc. of each roll sent through the coater.
- Sew rolls together. Be sure seams are straight, tightly sewn and ends trimmed as little as possible.
- Responsible for correct rolls to be sewn. Attach “style flags” to first roll of each run.
- Start accumulator and run the correct amount of carpet from the roll into the accumulator. Care should be taken to keep the carpet aligned properly to keep tension adjusted.
- Keep work area clean.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Lifting is required of cores, and buckets weighing 30 lbs approximately 80 times per shift.
- Standing is required 80% of the shift.
- Reaching is required for cores 40 to 100 times per shift.
- Stooping is required 15 to 30 times per shift for intervals of 1 to 2 minutes.
- Bending is required for cores 25 to 30 times per shift.
- Must be able to use scissors.
- Must be able to use wrenches.
Experience/Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to read and write and do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required on occasion.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Safety equipment must be worn as required and requirements must be followed for all areas.
- Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job.
- Responsible for quality and safety of his/her own output.
