This position is responsible for fabricating various metal products to meet our customers’ needs. An ideal candidate is one that can understand shop drawings but is also a good problem solver when little details are provided. Applicants must be able to weld stainless and carbon steels and aluminum. Applicants will undergo a welding test before being given a job offer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fabrication of stock and custom stainless-steel products, with some aluminum and steel.
- The fabrication of these products will include tasks such as:
- TIG welding
- MIG welding
- Stick welding
- Band saw cutting
- Plasma cutting and CNC plasma table cutting. Future laser table cutting likely.
- Grinding & drilling
- Punching, shearing & braking
- Measure and cut metal parts to exact specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with TIG and MIG welding
- Experience welding aluminum and/or stainless steel
- Comfortable with measurements and layout
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work safely and follow all company safety policies.
- Ability to successfully complete equipment operating training, as needed.
- Basic mechanical knowledge
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous experience in a fabrication shop
- CAD program experience
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, bend, climb, or sit for extended periods of time; reach and handle objects, tools, or controls; regularly lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Perform manual labor and utilize various hand tools.
Working Environment:
- Most work will be performed inside the fabrication shop.
- Noise levels will be consistent with standard fabrication shop equipment. Hearing protection will be provided and expected to be used as needed.
- Common fabrication shop safety hazards include working with or near moving equipment, sharp objects, and hot surfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.
- Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
- Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
- Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance.
Qualifications:
- Certified with a minimum of 2 years experience.
- Familiarity with welding tools and procedures (Tig, Mig, and Flux Core welding.)
- Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics, measuring skills.
Pay: Based on experience / knowledge
