Position: Tier 1 Technician
About the Opportunity:
We are looking for an intelligent, computer savvy, people person to join our fun and friendly staff based out of our west coast office in Burbank, CA. The position may require occasional night and weekend support. The main responsibilities for this position are hardware repair, remote phone support for hardware/software, and communication with Burbank service engineers to help improve our products.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, have great written and verbal communication skills, 3-5 years’ experience troubleshooting computer software and hardware, 3-5 years experience in a customer service role, a can-do attitude, and be willing to travel periodically. Some weekends may be required to work from home.
THIS IS NOT IT, NETWORKING OR CYBER SECURITY RELATED. This position will primarily handle the production assembly of our products, software testing and the various tasks as described below.
Job Responsibilities:
• Follow production procedures to assemble and prepare cinema servers
• Follow detailed hardware and software testing procedures for quality assurance.
• Testing and repair of Intel/Linux based servers and related hardware
• Visit customer sites for training, periodic upgrades and maintenance.
• Assist the Logistics department with preparing shipments and organizing inventory, some heavy lifting required
• Help create and maintain inventories
• Assist with processing incoming parts orders from customers and satellite offices
• Provide general assistance to the Tech and Logistics departments as needed
Basic required skills:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately communicate technical information.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Fast learner with a keen aptitude for technology
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Some Linux a plus
Education/Experience:
• Experience with repairing computer hardware is required.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and basic shell scripting is a plus.
• Two or more years’ experience in a customer service-related occupation is a plus.
