Classification: Part-Time / Non-Exempt (Seasonal)
Summary/Objective
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers take pride in the excellent service provided to our fans and guests each time they come to a ballgame or event at Segra Stadium. We have established very high standards that we expect each employee to follow. The job entails a great deal of walking, climbing stairs, and standing on concrete surfaces in both cold and extremely hot weather. Ticket Takers are expected to serve the guests upon entry to Segra Stadium by greeting, scanning tickets, and answering questions the guest may have. Fayetteville Woodpeckers home games run April 7 - September 10, 2023; opportunities to work events post-season may arise.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Treat our fans and guests with courtesy and respect while assisting throughout the entry process
  • Maintain a safe, clean, fun, and family-friendly operation
  • Ensure fans have a valid ticket to enter the ballpark and scan for entry, this includes operating a hand-held ticket scanner
  • Be familiar of execution of emergency protocols and procedures
  • Provide event information and general ballpark directions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience & Skills
Required
  • Employees must communicate well and be friendly, knowledgeable, well-groomed, assertive, and able to intervene in conflict situations
  • Must have the ability to provide excellent customer service to all fans and guests in a professional, respectful, and friendly manner
  • Must be available to attend training sessions, stadium tours, and other events as necessary throughout the year
  • Must be reliable and exhibit commitment to meeting both the work schedule and job requirements

Work Environment
Job may require employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue/environment. Employee may also be exposed to weather of varying degrees for extended periods of time while performing the duties of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time and seasonal position. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends during baseball season. Must be available to arrive up to one (1) hour prior to game time.
Travel
Travel is not expected in this role.
