Position Description: Responsible for the oversight of all daily operations. Maintain appropriate customer relations. Ensure neat and orderly display of merchandise and maintain cleanliness of the store. Recommend annual budget for the store and provide input into the strategic planning. Recommends volunteer needs for the store. Flexible hours are required, including evenings and weekends.

Supervisory (Responsibilities): Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directly supervises all full & part time staff at the Mission Mart store.

Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications: Must be of Christian faith.

Tasks:

Coordinate the hiring process for the store with Human Resources

Enlist volunteers

Train and supervise staff and volunteers

Conduct performance evaluations in accordance with Mission procedures

Resolve personnel issues and grievances in accordance with Mission procedures

Establish and maintain daily work schedules

Establish and maintain proper pricing procedures and appropriate records

Provide required reports and analysis in a timely manner

Make daily bank deposits

Develop annual budget request

Establish operating goals

Partner with South Side Mission Donation Pickup and Delivery as needed pertaining to logistics of inventory

Provide for a Christian environment in accordance with the Mission’s Statement of Faith

Maintain clean and orderly display area

Maintain positive customer relations

Speak on behalf of the Mission as opportunities become available

Perform other duties as assigned by the Retail Division Coordinator

Physical and Other Requirements:
Receiving and organizing donations of furniture and other items, this position is required to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and over 50 up to 100 pounds occasionally. Frequent standing, walking and bending required.

Must be able to pass the pre-employment physical test based on the job description.
