Thrift Store Manager

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Manager to lead the operational aspects of our Thrift Store located within a residential women's recovery ministry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, conduct employee and volunteer orientation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, also ensuring the store's profitability, all while maintaining a focus on the vocational training and recovery goals of the women we serve.

We are a christian church ministry and enthusiastically promote a christian atmosphere of christian music videos and prayer in our Thrift Store. If you are uncomfortable promoting this type of environment this may not be the right job for you.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily store operations, including sales, customer service, and inventory management, dropped off donations, schedule pick ups.
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability-sales, discounts, specials, promotions.
• Train and supervise store staff, providing guidance and support in alignment with recovery-focused vocational training.
• Conduct employee orientation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Will work closely with owners from time to time at owners discretion.
• Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing to customers.
• Interview and hire qualified candidates for open positions (as directed by the owners).
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve any customer complaints or issues.

Skills:

• experience in Thrift Store operations and management preferred but not mandatory
• Strong organizational skills to effectively manage store operations.
• Proficiency in retail math to analyze sales data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to effectively train and develop employees to maximize production and profit, with a focus on customer service.
• Knowledge of inventory control practices to optimize stock levels and minimize shrinkage.
• Proven track record in driving retail sales and achieving sales targets.
• Knowledge of online sales, Facebook marketplace, and eBay
• Knowledge of Canva
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of clover POS (but not required)
• Knowledge of retail pricing with ability to stay with competitive Thrift Store pricing
• Demonstrates eagerness to stay with competition and willingness to research new and competitive ideas
• Experience in retail staging and floor plans
• Creating customer satisfaction
• Experience in creating sales and increasing customer base
• Excellent t customer service skills
• Mature and family oriented. Relational and willingness to mentor, train, and accept Abba house mission to help broken women be made whole.
• Open to attending fundraising functions and groups
• Able to create and or maintain relationships with current vendors
• Order supplies
• Work with executive staff in developing ways to improve sales and other retail store retention
• Must be flexible and go with the daily abba house program schedules
• Able to open and close store
• Self starter
• Make deposits, make change
• Has a good driving record and has a drivers license
• Can drive a box truck
• Can lift up to 25 lbs but not mandatory
• Excellent at problem solving and handling customer disputes and or complaints
• Has working knowledge of outlook, and other Microsoft program
• Has working knowledge of Google, gmail

Base Pay with Performance Bonuses:

We offer a competitive base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, performance bonuses will be provided based on achieving key performance indicators and operational goals.
