Third Shift Finishing Operator I

Tier I Finishing Operator - *****MUST WORK ON 3rd SHIFT Sunday-Thursday 11:00p-7:30am*****

The Finishing Operator is principally responsible to process the American Aerogel product through its final stages. This position insures the quality of the product through each step using self-monitoring and observation. This position interacts with other members of the finishing team and management. They are a critical factor in the success of the final product.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Multiple stations are used in the Finishing process. A flexible attitude is required

• Monitor evac machine and the product as it is being processed

• Communicate process issues/concerns with others on the team and management

• Work efficiently while bagging, taping and building boxes

• Verify at the start of the run and at the beginning of each shift that the correct packaging case, case count, and packing method, as specified on the job ticket, are being used

• When product is pulled due to quality issues, verify that the correct date and count are on the tag

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Must be 18 years old or older

• Flexible for all shifts; willing to work OT and weekends when needed

• Strong attention to detail

• Curiosity and interest in learning

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities

• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions

• Mathematical skills such as measurement calculation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

• Basic computer skills

• Must be extremely trustworthy, flexible, and dependable with a good attendance history

• Self-motivated and able to perform with little direction

• Exceptional problem solving skills

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, frequently will be required to stand for long periods, use hands/fingers repetitively, handle or feel objects, tools, or; and talk or hear. Good hand-eye coordination.

Also occasionally will be required to walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch and lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Tools & Equipment:

Computer, cutting machine, tape, and vacuum chamber machine

Environmental Factors:

Chemical Manufacturing environment; which requires wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when performing specific functions. Exposure to fumes and airborne particles is moderate. The noise level in this environment is low to mid range.
