Qualifications:

• Education Required: Master’s Degree PhD in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology. License Mental Health Counselor or Temporary License Mental Health Counselor staff must be engaged in clinical supervision and apply for full licensure and pass the exam within 6 months of completing their clinical supervision.
• Education Preferred: PhD in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology. Licensed Independent Social Worker, License Mental Health Counselor or equivalent license in State of Iowa. Licensed Independent Social Worker, License Mental Health Counselor or equivalent license in State of Iowa.
• Experience Required: Open.
• Experience Preferred: One year of clinical experience.
• Valid drivers’ license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required.  Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.

Position Specifics

• Position Hours: varies-8:30 am-5 pm with some occasional evenings - typically reflecting a 32 -hour work week.
• Full-time position.
• Salaried exempt position.
• Salaried position starting at $55,000.00 annually - taking licensure and experience into consideration.

• Position is included in an on-call rotation.

Position Details

The Therapist of Crisis Stabilization will be responsible for preparing psychosocial assessments of individuals and families as well as serving as primary therapist in providing crisis treatment including leading individual and/or focused group therapy. The therapist provides counseling and therapy services to clients that halt, control, or reverse undue stress and social, emotional, or behavioral problems that threaten or have negatively affected the individual’s or family’s stability.  Activities can include individual, family, or group therapy, crisis intervention, trainings and marketing services. The Crisis Stabilization Therapist must possess and exhibit exceptional judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to supervise and lead a team. This position is included in a rotating on call rotation that is required. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor of Clinical Residential. This position will need to have a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
