Sundance Circle Hippotherapy is a small business in Sumner, WA. We provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy utilizing hippotherapy. We also provide adaptive riding lessons. Summary:
Sundance Circle Hippotherapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor or CHA Instructor of Riders with Disabilities (IRD) to join our team and help us expand our adaptive riding program. **Must be 18 years or older to apply!** We are seeking a part-time instructor who is eager to grow into a full-time position and play a key role in developing a thriving adaptive riding program.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Therapeutic Riding instruction for individuals with disabilities, following individualized treatment plans and PATH Intl./CHA guidelines.
- Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans tailored to each rider's goals and abilities.
- Collaborate with therapists, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care for each rider.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for both riders and horses.
- Assist in the training and supervision of volunteers.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on Therapeutic Riding practices.
Qualifications:
- Current PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) certification or CHA Instructor of Riders with Disabilities. Current Riding Instructor working towards PATH/CHA certification welcome to apply.
- Must be at least 18 years old to qualify for PATH CTRI or CHA IRD!!
- Strong understanding of disabilities and their impact on riding skills.
- Excellent horsemanship skills and experience in handling and working with horses.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a commitment to helping individuals with disabilities achieve their goals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with riders, parents, therapists, and volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation:
- Starting pay of $22 per hour, with the potential for advancement based on experience and performance.
- Part-time position with the opportunity to transition to full-time status based on program needs and instructor performance.
