Therapeutic Riding Instructor

Healing Strides is a 501-c3 non-profit organization in Boones Mill, VA with an opening for a highly qualified candidate! We are looking for a full-time Therapeutic Riding Instructor who would thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with experience in equine management, lesson instruction, and general equine knowledge and safety. In addition to excellent communication and interpersonal skills, this candidate will currently hold or be willing to obtain their PATH Intl CTRI within two years of employment (training provided), may have experience working with individuals with disabilities, and/or have a background in teaching recreational horseback riding lessons. While experience in the equine assisted services industry is ideal, candidates with related and relevant equine experience are welcome to apply! Working alongside our Operations Manager and Head Instructor, this person will have a passion for working with horses and people, serving their community through equine assisted services.

Healing Strides provides Equine Assisted Services to individuals with personal challenges, partnering humans and equines to create powerful and lasting change in the lives of individuals throughout our community. Our incredible staff of instructors, mental health professionals, coaches, teachers and administrators’ facility is located on 22 acres in Franklin County. As the only Premier Accredited Center with the PATH Int’l in the Roanoke Valley, we offer mounted and unmounted activities, therapies, and support services in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
