We are seeking a Therapeutic Assistant to join our team to support our therapeutic staff. The therapy assistant will join a team of therapeutic professionals including licensed social workers, occupational, physical, speech and ABA therapists. Mentorship and opportunities to observe therapy sessions, as well as assistance with graduate school application process will be provided. 80% of our Therapeutic Assistants have been accepted into graduate healthcare school programs!
Responsibilities
- Development of therapeutic relationship between self and child with assistance of therapists as needed.
- Engage with clients and promote their participation in therapeutic activities
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all our children and staff
- Assist with lunchroom prep
- Assist with daily data collection.
- Assist in therapy room and lesson preparation
- Assist clients with toileting, as needed.
- Assist in cleaning and organizing Eyas Landing facility.
- Directly report to supervisor for daily tasks
- Assist in additional tasks as needed.
- Participate in yearly performance review with supervisor and Clinic Director.
- Participate in all required company orientation.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred
- Experience working with children

Eyas Landing is an outpatient, multidisciplinary pediatric therapy clinic. Our Merlin Day Academyprogram provides students with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neuro-diverse learning needs ages 6 to 14 an intensive, individualized educational environment that cultivates relationship-based, family-centered care to strengthen educational and functional skills for students to become active, successful participants in their community. Our collaborative team of therapists and educators provide special education and occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), developmental therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, language therapy, nutrition, and feeding therapy services.
We're expanding in West Loop and our brand-new facility in Avondale, and our sister companies (Eyas Landing & Blue Bird Day Program) support families in West Loop, Northcenter, and Wheaton.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The working environment may at times be busy with small groups of children and individual sessions with children while other clients/therapists are present. Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs, including but not limited to lifting children, therapy equipment etc.
- Ability to walk and/or run if needed to keep clients safe.
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques, based on training provided by the company.
- Ability to use hands and arms to prepare and perform required therapy tasks.
- Ability to utilize keyboard, desktop, and ipad to complete documentation required for funders.
