Description
The Licensing Coordinator at the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribal Gaming Agency is responsible for overseeing the licensing processes for Class II and Class III gaming License, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Facilitating the issuance and renewal of licenses for applicants, employees, and casino vendors, the Coordinator operates within the framework of Tribal-State Compact, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and relevant laws. Additionally, they maintain accurate records, facilitate communication with licensing authorities, and provide recommendations to the Tribal Gaming Commission. Description
The Licensing Coordinator at the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribal Gaming Agency is responsible for overseeing the licensing processes for Class II and Class III gaming License, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Facilitating the issuance and renewal of licenses for applicants, employees, and casino vendors, the Coordinator operates within the framework of Tribal-State Compact, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and relevant laws. Additionally, they maintain accurate records, facilitate communication with licensing authorities, and provide recommendations to the Tribal Gaming Commission. Through careful attention to detail and effective communication, the Licensing Coordinator upholds the integrity of gaming operations while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment within the agency.
Duties Include:
- Processes licenses and renewals for applicants and employees according to Tribal-State Compact, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and relevant regulations.
- Ensures compliance with Tribal-State Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulations, and Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribal Gaming Agency Policies and Procedures.
- Conducts thorough background investigations for vendors, employees and casino employees; completes background checks, credit checks, and other applicable responsibilities related to employee renewals; monitors and ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements while processing and managing vendor, employee, and casino employee licenses.
- Maintains accurate records of all current and terminated employees, vendors, and vendor employees with updates to their records as required.
- Issues all Tribal Licenses, Class II & III Gaming Licenses, Vendor Licenses, and PGST Identification Cards.
- Communicates with State and Federal licensing staff verbally, electronically and in writing as needed.
- Recommends revocation and suspension of license for individuals with unresolved or unfavorable background information.
- Makes recommendations to the Tribal Gaming Commission regarding the issuance of conditional licensing of employees.
- Makes recommendations to the Tribal Gaming Commission regarding the suitability of new and renewing vendors, and their employees.
- Negotiates with WSGC on compact changes with regards to licensing.
- Ensures that all casino vendors are supplied with renewal paperwork before their license is expired.
- Ensures that every casino employee is supplied with renewal paperwork before their license is expired; each employee will be notified in writing that their license is up for renewal.
- Ensures that all license renewals make it to the Tribal Gaming Commission meeting to be voted on.
- Bills the appropriate agency to ensure that all licensing fees have been paid.
- Audits casino accounting to ensure that all required vendors doing business with the casino are duly licensed.
- Keeps detailed records of all employees who are on a Conditional license and meets with them monthly to ensure compliance.
- Ensures that terminated employees are taken out of the NIGC & WSGC database in a timely fashion.
- Informs all regulatory agencies of revocations that have been through due process with the Tribal Gaming Commission and supply all detailed information as required.
- Will work with TGO on Job description changes, position changes or organizational changes.
- Must be able to interact with guests, coworkers, state and federal representatives and the casino's entire workforce in a professional and courteous manner.
- Promotes a positive and harmonious work environment by contributing to team effort.
- Must be able to work in a cigarette smoke filled environment.
- Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs.

Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Preferred associate degree in business or criminal justice but is not required.
- Must have or be able to obtain a PGST Gaming License.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Notary license within three months of hire.
- Must have a Washington State Driver's License.
Experience:
- Two years of regulatory gaming experience, including background investigation and licensing expertise, or equivalent experience in related fields.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal, and local laws, regulations, and requirements including the Tribal-State Gaming Compact.
- Knowledge of specialized licensing procedures for gaming licensees and applicants.
- Knowledge of legal concepts and processes.
- Responsible for Processing payments budget.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of customer service practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of records management, filing systems, and basic accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic practices.
- Ability to apply sound judgment.
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple complex databases.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
