About the Role

The main function of an internship is to understand the testing & development of automotive electronics and sensors systems components for localization, target/obstacle detection, and other critical measurements. The intern is responsible for modifying SW codes, monitoring test processes, observing performance changes, modifying tests and equipment, and documenting all data and results. 

Your Responsibilities

•    Develop and evaluate test systems with a focus on magnetometers, ultrasonic, and lidars systems.
•    Develop and execute test plans to validate software modifications, system performance and issues related to calibration, sensing range, and resolution.
•    Validate software capability with various systems including Ultrasonic, Lidar, and Magnetometers sensors.
•    Document and communicate any problems/issues identified during test validation and verification.
•    Modify/Create software to control and automate tests using programming languages (Python, Arduino, C/C++), or other serial data tools to evaluate and diagnose system functionality and behavior.
•    Document and communicate written data reports and all software development versions and present them on a daily basis.
•    Attend team meetings to provide projects status updates and to offer support. 
•    Research and understand the implementation of new technologies and other monitoring and controlling techniques.
 

Who we are looking for

•    Familiarity with system components and ICs specifications (read and understand datasheets and specs)
•    Working knowledge of serial data communication protocols; UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN.
•    Proficient in the use of the Arduino IDE, Python, and C/C++
•    Advanced ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions, and choose appropriate corrective actions using root cause analysis.
•    Knowledge in MS Office, Microsoft Teams, OneNote, Outlook, or other email communication tools.
•    Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Strong organizational skills to successfully coordinate, execute, and document, project plans and outcomes.
•    Ability to work independently and with a team.
•    Basic knowledge and understanding of the internet of things and how to use WiFi for data acquisition and remote access and control.
 

Your preferred qualifications

•    High School Diploma
•    Currently Attending a College or University in Engineering or Sciences
•    Initial industry experience (e.g., internship, co-op) is an asset 
•    Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
•    Professional Good Communication skills (written and verbal)
