Role Description:
As a Test Automation Intern (known internally as, Information Technology Intern), you will join our Software Quality Test Automation team. This team fulfills the critical role of requirements validation by rigorously testing our software systems inside and out before code is put into production. By performing and automating test cases for various software systems at Safety National, you will have a significant impact to our end user experience and help deliver on one of Safety National’s Core Values, Stability.
Your primary responsibility as a Test Automation Intern will be to write Java code in our Test Automation framework using Selenium. This is to automate test cases in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, Salesforce, or other systems as desired. This will require you to partner with other test engineers to learn the systems, understand the business processes, and contemplate the various ways a user may interact with the software. You will be required to write your test code, investigate and debug, as needed.
Your coursework in Information Systems, Computer Science or a similar major will be put to good use as you learn to apply what you’ve studied to real world business systems. Here you will learn the complexity of working on enterprise software systems, how to collaborate with others through project management systems like Target Process, and how code is managed in a corporate environment through code repositories like GitHub. In this role you will have an opportunity to gain expertise in the automating software tests.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate or currently enrolled student with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar
- 60 or more credit hours complete with an expected graduation date no later than May of 2025
- Proficiency in Java programming
- Familiarity with software testing methods and concepts
- Absolute commitment to consistency and quality
- Ability to work on-site at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63146
- Ability to work a full-time schedule (37.5 hours) in summer of 2024
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with an enterprise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, preferably Salesforce
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as, Jenkins and the concept of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD)
- Prior work or internship experience
- Prior experience with code management/repositories, preferably GitHub
- Fundamental knowledge of insurance industry and risk concepts
