The Test Analyst contributes to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business solutions by providing technical or business knowledge to the team. Under the guidance of a Sr. Software Engineer or QA Manager, the Test Analyst collaborates with Business Analysts, key stakeholders, and other IT professionals to define technical specifications (based on business requirements) and system interfaces to develop and present business solutions.

The Test Analyst contributes to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business solutions by providing technical or business knowledge to the team. Under the guidance of a Sr. Software Engineer or QA Manager, the Test Analyst collaborates with Business Analysts, key stakeholders, and other IT professionals to define technical specifications (based on business requirements) and system interfaces to develop and present business solutions.
As a Test Analyst, you will work within the Data Services organization helping our Agile delivery teams embrace, leverage, and realize the benefits of testing. This position is integral in helping to evolve our testing strategy, our toolset, and culture. Within this role you will champion overall excellence, ensuring that world-class test services are developed and upheld.
What you’ll be doing
- Follows standard methodology and design patterns as appropriate to ensure high quality software products and minimize maintenance requirements.
- Demonstrates agile and DevOps to optimize delivery practices.
- Diagnoses and solves problems reported.
- Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends, and refactors simple programs/scripts.
- Analyses and reports on integration test activities and results. Identifies and reports issues and risks.
- Contributes, as the need arises, to investigations of problems and faults concerning the installation of hardware and/or software and confirms the correct working of installations.
- Assists in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications.
- Specifies and develops test scenarios to deliver improved ways of working.
- Occasionally required to work late evening and weekends as needed.
What we’re looking for
- A Bachelor's degree in Business-related field, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- SAFe certified (or other scaled agile frameworks) preferred.
- Experience of creating scenarios, planning, and estimating test resource requirements and test execution timelines
- Experience of handling multiple projects and through to the entire Test Lifecycle (System, Integration, Technical, Operational and User Acceptance Testing and Non-Functional)
- Experience with testing ETL systems.
- Experience of using HP Quality Center, JIRA, SQL Test Tools, Selenium, Jenkins, Cucumber, Business Objects Reports, QlikView Dashboards, Policy Admin Systems
- Detailed understanding of defect tracking and management using tools
- Ability to conduct defect triage meetings and how to resolve deadlocks.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Shows flexibility and attention to detail.
- Strong desire for continuous improvement
