The Opportunity:

The Terminal Operations Manager the day-to-day operations of the terminal/warehouse, including safety and environmental regulations. This position is also responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and cost-effective operation of rail unloading, truck load-out /unloading, and site security.

Key Responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP

• Role models and reinforces the organizational culture of Parkland USA through coaching, mentoring, rewarding, and accountability.
• Ensures all safety protocols and operations policies and procedures are followed; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of Safety, Health, and Environment principles and values; champions safety as necessary.
• Maintains viable relationships with all employees to ensure customers’ needs are always met.

MANAGEMENT

• Hires, trains, and manages a team of direct reports including but not limited to warehouse staff. Manages and evaluates staff performance.
• Designs, implements, and enforces policies and procedures.
• Assigns or delegates responsibilities to employees within department. Sets priorities and ensures deadlines are met. Determines the technical accuracy of work.
• Works with Branch Manager to determine present and future facility needs for programs, personnel, and equipment.
• Reconciles inventory. Analyzes and monitors internal processes and statistical information for site. Uses that information to improve operational efficiencies.
• Allocates available resources to enable successful task performance.
• Works with Branch Manager regarding the budget and financial platform of the department. Prepares forecasting of budgets annually to set goals and expectations.
• Monitors general housekeeping of facility.
• Ensures that confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS

• Maintains and upholds customer relationships to maximize profitability. Resolves customer’s complaints and inquiries.
• Works with customers on new products, procedures, planning and implementation.
• Meets with existing customers to evaluate satisfaction and determine future needs.
• Collaborates with suppliers to ensure all allocations are met, and requests product as needed.
• Acts as contact for railroad issues and incidents on the property.
• Meets with inspection companies regarding operational issues.

Experience:

• 5+ years experience dealing with customers
• 3+ years experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, and evaluation
• Customer service focus including the ability to speak diplomatically and be a problem solver
• Experience in writing and implementing processes and procedures
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize opportunities to improve business results
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education:

GED equivalent, High School Diploma, or higher degree paired with 3 or more years of experience in business management or related field
